Gout is the painful inflammation of the big toe caused by defects in uric acid metabolism and its salts in blood and joints.

Gout Home Remedies:

Avoid aspirin or acetaminophen.  Aspirin can inhibit excretion of uric acid, making the condition worse 

and acetaminophen does not have adequate capability of fighting inflammation.  

Avoid foods such as anchovies, heart, brains, kidney, meat extracts, sardines, mussels are all high

 in urine and increase the levels of uric acid, making gout worse.  

Reduce the intake of processed foods such as refined sugars and white flour. 

Drink plenty of water.  For the women that are also suffering from kidney stones due to their condition, 

this will help to discourage the formation of kidney stones. 

Drink herbal teas.  

Don’t drink alcohol.  

Don’t engage in fad diets.  

Discuss your supplements with your doctor.  Some vitamins are known to bring on attacks of gout such

as vitamin A.

Apply ice to the affected joint to help ease the pain and swelling.  

Keep your blood pressure under control.  

Mix two tablespoons of organic apple cider vinegar with two tablespoons of organic honey and take twice

a day.
